LMS COMPARISON

Edaxu vs TalentLMS

Choose around the training you deliver.
And the records you need to keep.

Both platforms support online courses, certificates, and separate training environments. The useful differences emerge when you check your SCORM files, renewal process, course sharing, and sign-in requirements.

START WITH YOUR REQUIREMENTS

Which belongs on your shortlist?

Consider Edaxu when…

Your evaluation centers on certificate history, versioned course delivery, or sharing training across client and team portals.

  • Your course library includes SCORM 2004 or multi-SCO packages.
  • You need to trace a renewed certificate back to the earlier award.
  • Some teams should reuse a published course; others need their own editable copy.

  • You want to evaluate its documented SAML or OpenID Connect integrations with your identity provider.
  • Its branch model fits how you organize separate audiences.
  • You want to begin with a small, ongoing free plan.

01 / COURSE COMPATIBILITY

Check the SCORM version before migrating.

Edaxu supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004, including packages with multiple shareable content objects. TalentLMS explicitly documents SCORM 1.2 support and excludes SCORM 2004 and multi-SCO packages. Read TalentLMS’s compatibility note.

If your library includes SCORM 2004, plan a compatibility check before choosing TalentLMS. Re-exporting from the original authoring project may be an option, but changing a manifest label does not convert the course. If your files are already SCORM 1.2, evaluate both platforms with the same package.

Test this: launch a real course, leave halfway through, resume it, and finish the assessment. Compare the recorded score and completion with the course’s intended behavior. Use the manifest parser to inspect the declared version; it does not replace a playback test.
02 / CERTIFICATE OPERATIONS

Follow a credential into its next cycle.

TalentLMS can set certificate expiry and reassign a course for recertification. It is a relevant option when repeating a course is the renewal process you need. See its certificate configuration.

In Edaxu’s award-history workflow, an administrator renewal creates a new award linked to the previous one, while the earlier record remains available. Policies can also configure renewal after eligible recompletion. Issued PDFs retain their original design and values.

See the recorded renewal and current certificate verification. In either product, test early renewal, an expired award, and the historical record your reviewer will receive. Edaxu does not currently provide a CE-credit ledger or credit-based renewal requirements.

03 / CLIENT & TEAM TRAINING

Decide who owns the next course update.

Every Edaxu plan includes an organization.edaxu.com learner address. Essentials includes 3 Team Portals in addition to your main workspace, each with its own Edaxu address and administrator team. Scale includes unlimited Team Portals and advanced per-portal branding, learner dashboards, and navigation. Enterprise allowances are agreed in the contract.

TalentLMS branches provide separate training environments with their own presentation, audiences, and course selections. Edaxu Team Portals also separate the learner experience; Scale adds independently editable themes and learner layouts. Read the TalentLMS branch guide.

In Edaxu, a receiving portal can accept a shared course as a mirror of the source’s published version, or as an independent clone when the offer permits it. A clone lets a client maintain its own changes. Existing enrollments stay tied to their course version.

Check the reporting boundary: Edaxu learner activity stays in the receiving portal; it does not automatically roll into the source portal’s learner reports. If you need a consolidated view across every client, evaluate that requirement separately.

Try one shared course and one client-specific variation. Check who can edit each, how updates reach learners, and which administrator can see completion records. The Team Portals walkthrough shows Edaxu’s sharing choices and reporting boundaries.

04 / BUDGET & ACCESS

Price the configuration you will actually use.

Edaxu

On monthly billing, Starter is $79 per month for 50 active learners, Essentials is $249 per month for 1,000 active learners and 3 Team Portals, and Scale is $599 per month for 3,000 active learners and unlimited Team Portals. Starter is also available at $790 billed annually.

Additional learners are billed monthly in whole blocks, rounded up: $25 per 50 on Starter, $50 per 250 on Essentials, and $75 per 500 on Scale. The same block rates apply to annual subscriptions. Allowances are shared across your workspace and portals. A learner counts as active when they log in, complete a course module, or earn a credential during the monthly usage period.

The 30-day trial includes Essentials features and 3 Team Portals, with up to 50 active learners shared across the account. No paid plan selection is required to start.

TalentLMS

Core starts at $119 per month, billed annually, for 1–40 users. That is $1,428 per year. Its free plan allows up to five active users and ten active courses.

Its standard user limits and flexible login-based option use different counting rules. Select the learner bracket, billing term, and required branch allowance before comparing the total.

Test SSO with your identity provider.

Both platforms support SSO. Edaxu offers SAML and OpenID Connect on Enterprise; TalentLMS documents SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect integrations. Confirm plan availability and test sign-in, user matching, and access for each audience with your identity provider before rollout.

BEFORE YOU SWITCH

Bring one course, one renewal, and two audiences.

A focused trial will tell you more than a long feature checklist. Run the same scenario in both products:

  1. Deliver the course. Use your actual SCORM export and verify launch, resume, assessment, and completion.
  2. Renew a certificate. Inspect the new expiry, prior award, downloadable evidence, and notifications you intend to enable.
  3. Separate two audiences. Check their branding, course access, administrator permissions, and reports.
  4. Scope the migration. Inventory users, source course files, completion exports, and certificates. Agree which historical records will transfer and how they will be validated.

A course ZIP does not carry your LMS’s learner history with it. Agree the record mapping and acceptance checks before committing to a switch.

Every Edaxu plan includes self-service course import guidance and email support for setup questions. Scale includes migration planning; hands-on imports, historical record migration, and custom implementation are scoped separately. Enterprise implementation services are agreed in the contract.
